Glowing Flashlight Maglite
Submitted by:
Joe Marques
Materials Required:
Flash light, glow paint, brushes and gloves
Procedure:
I first masked off the area to be painted, then applied 2 coats of white nail
polish to give it a white surface to enhance the glow. I then filled an empty nail polish bottle with
approximately ¼ aqua glow powder, then filled the rest of the bottle with clear acrylic paint and added
a couple of stainless steel bearings to help mix the paint.
After thoroughly mixing the powder
into the paint I applied about 4 coats of the mixed glow paint to the 3D Maglite Flashlight. After
allowing the paint to dry I then applied a coat of clear nail polish to protect and smooth out the
painted surface.
The results are awesome, making the flashlight extremely easy to find in the
dark. The 3D Maglite has also been modified to use a Luxeon3 white LED and is insanely bright! I hope
you enjoy the pics.
